Overview
The Amador Mathematics Department
provides each student the mathematics they need for their particular career path.
Our classes prepare students for life in the workplace, college mathematics and
passing the California High School Exit Exam. The mathematics teachers are dedicated
in providing an atmosphere where students can achieve success up to their ability.
We believe that students learn
best when they are active participants in their learning. Our core program
uses College Preparitory Mathematics (CPM) which is a problem based curriculum
that uses cooperative learning as well as direct instruction. It addresses
all the state standards for math in each subject. Our students do very well
on standard tests such as STAR, PSAT, SAT, CAHSEE or ACT and have been successful
in the college mathematics courses they take.
